If you can't afford to buy it, then the alternative is much worse: you can't afford all the drugs on the market, so that means that those who really need drugs have to go without. I'd bet there are some drugs on the market that I'd like, but I'd also bet that the majority of those I'd like to have are already on the antibiotics market; they are simply too expensive. I'm a fan of the use of antibiotics for growth promotion in livestock, but it seems to be the exception and not the rule, and the reason for that is that we've been using antibiotics with little concern for their possible adverse consequences for the human population, so many of our animals have died of infectious diseases.
